North Sweeps Shiloh In Round One Of The State Playoffs

 

 

The North Gwinnett bats were dominate Wednesday night at Chandler Field.  The Lady Dogs put up 27 runs in two games and the pitching surrendered zero run as North advanced to round two in the 7A State Bracket.

North returns to action next week in Round 2 against Etowah

North Gwinnett Lady Dogs kick off the 2019 State Tournament this week against Shiloh.

In the best 2 out of 3 series, the Lady Dogs will host the series at Chandler Field

NORTH SWEEPS THE REGION WITH A 16-0 RECORD

 

 

Congratulations to your North Gwinnett Lady Dawgs Varsity Softball Team for going

undefeated in Region Play.  The Dogs beat the regions second best team for the third time this season, 12-7. Mountain View jumped out to a fast lead, but the Lady Dogs

responded with an offensive flurry capped by Morgan Frye’s two run go ahead homerun to give the Dogs their game winning lead.

 

SENIOR NIGHT saw the Seniors battle hard in the regular season finale.  Strong play by our seniors…

7A's #2 North Gwinnett defeats # 3 Grayson 8-5

Your North Lady Dogs pounded out 12 hits at Grayson, and beat 7A's number 3 Grayson Rams 8-5.  Riley Jackson went 3-4 and was outstanding behind the plate.   Amber Reed delivered another Steller pitching performance and picks up the win.

DOGS REDUCE THE MAGIC NUMBER TO ONE

The DOGS cruise to another region win, and reduce the Region Magic Number to 1.

Another Steller pitching performance from the Dogs Trio. Jaylyn Benson, Alex Higdon,

and Lilly Runaas.   It was great to see Alex return the the pitching rotation with two shutout innings.

The Bulldogs were able to take advantage of a few Wildcat mistakes, 

and put 10 runs on the board including an 8 spot in the second inning.  

 

The Dogs will travel to Grayson, Georgia on Monday, September 23rdfor a 7A match-up of 

#2 North Gwinnett versus #4 Grayson.  The team will need many cheers, so come out and cheer

on the Lady Dogs in this non-region showdown.  

NORTH Takes control of Region 6 in 7A with a 2-1 win over Mountain View

 

Amber Reed Pitched another Gem in the Region show down.    Mountain View

Pitchers created challenges for the Lady Dogs, but the players overcame, and put runs

on the board.  

 

Come scout out the dogs on Thursday September 18thas the Dogs return home to face

Duluth at 6:00PM

North takes two more Region Games.  Amber Reed gives up 1 run in two games, and the bats stay hot as North moves to 18-1 on the season.

NORTH VERSUS MILLCREEK RAINED OUT ON TUESDAY - RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY

REGION RIVALS NORTH GWINNETT BULLDOGS VS MILLCREEK HAWKS WAS POSTPONED DUE TO STORMS.  THIS RIVALRY HAS BEEN RESCEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 11TH AT 5:00PM AT NORTH GWINNETT.  

 

NORTH WINS TWO AT NORTH COBB HIGH SCHOOL

 

 

North Gwinnett visited Cobb County to take on Kell and Gilmer County.  The players came ready to play as they beat Kell 8-0 in the first game, and then took down Gilmer County 10-2 in game #2.   The Lady Dogs return to region play this week against Millcreek and Collins Hill.  Both games are at home.

NORTH SCORES 45 RUNS IN TWO GAMES

The Lady Bulldogs bats powered the team to  a 2-0 week.

 

·     North 16 – Duluth 0

·     North 29 – Peachtree Ridge 8

 

The bats were Summer Hot as North beat Duluth and Peachtree Ridge in 

back to back days. Jaylyn Benson pitched a shutout against Duluth on Wednesday 

and Amber Reed and Jaylyn Benson combined for the Victory Thursday night against 

Peachtree Ridge. Sims, Benson (3), Jackson, Faw and Miller all went YARD as the Bulldogs

 

Today Versus Peachtree Ridge

 

Riley Jackson got busy on the basepaths on Thursday, knocking five hits in North Gwinnett Varsity Softball 's 29-8 victory over Peachtree Ridge.  Jackson doubled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, singled in the sixth, singled in the seventh, and homered in the seventh.

 

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as North Gwinnett Varsity Softball  collected 23 hits and Peachtree Ridge had seven.

 

Peachtree Ridge got things moving in the first inning, when Jaylah Jarrell doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

 

North Gwinnett Varsity Softball  pulled away for good with nine runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Haley Cummings doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Jaylyn Benson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Jackson doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, an error scored one run for North Gwinnett Varsity Softball , Grace Connelly singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, and Marisa Miller homered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

 

North Gwinnett Varsity Softball  scored 15 runs in the seventh inning.  North Gwinnett Varsity Softball  batters contributing to the big inning included Miller, Benson, Morgan Frye, Connelly, Miller, and  Laila Sims, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

 

Amber Reed led things off in the pitcher's circle for North Gwinnett Varsity Softball . She went five innings, allowing eight runs on six hits and striking out four.

 

Elle Lunsford was in the circle for Peachtree Ridge. She allowed five hits and eight runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.  Alex Harris, Maya Seesholtz, and Ava Lunsford each contributed in relief for Peachtree Ridge.

 

North Gwinnett Varsity Softball  hit seven home runs on the day. Jackson had a four bagger in the seventh inning. Miller had a homer in the fourth and seventh innings. Bella Faw went yard in the sixth inning. Sims went for the long ball in the seventh inning. Benson had a long ball in the sixth and seventh innings.

 

North Gwinnett Varsity Softball  tallied 23 hits on the day.  Jackson, Benson, Miller, Connelly, Page Nellis, and Faw all managed multiple hits for North Gwinnett Varsity Softball .  Jackson led North Gwinnett Varsity Softball  with five hits in six at bats.

 

Peachtree Ridge scattered seven hits in the game.  Kennedy Harp and Jarrell all collected multiple hits for Peachtree Ridge.

 

 

 

 

NORTH STAYS UNDEFEATED IN REGION PLAY WITH WINS OVER COLLINS HILL AND MOUNTAIN VIEW

The North Gwinnett Lady Bulldogs complete a 2-0 week with wins over

Collins Hill and Mountain View.  Pitching, Defense and bats were the keys

to victory this week. North gets a few days off before returning to region action on 

Wednesday September 4thwhen they head to Duluth to take on the Wildcats.

COACH HEIL IS WORKING ON A MAKE UP DATE FOR GRAYSON

JACKSON AND REED LEADS NORTH TO A 7-1 VICTORY OVER RIVAL MILL CREEK

Riley Jackson’s  4 for 4 performance combined with Amber Reeds one run complete game powered the Lady Dogs to 7-1 Victory over the 2018 State Finalist Millcreek Hawks.

The Dogs played errorless ball, and the bats pounded out 15 hits on their way to a 10-1 record.

 

North will take a few game days off, and return to the field for 3 critical games next week.

DOGS SHUTOUT PEACHTREE RIDGE

Amber Reed and the Lady Dogs shutout Peachtree Ridge 8-0.

Bella Faw’s homerun opened up the scoring and the rest of the Dogs

Kept the runs coming. Page Nellis’ RBI and game winning single closed out the 

Scoring.  

 

North will travel to Millcreek on Thursday to take on the Hawks.  Game time is 4:00PM.

The Lady Dogs come out on top in a 4-3 win vs Harris County.  In a Pitchers dual, Amber

Reed held the Tigers to 2 earned runs and Jalyn Benson came through with a double and triple

to lead the offensive efforts.

PITCHING AND HITTING PROPELS NORTH GWINNETT TO A 13-0 VICTORY OVER DULUTH

North Gwinnett used the bats, pitching and solid defense to take care of business against the Duluth Wildcast.  Up next for the Bulldogs is Harris Friday night August 16th at 8:00pm at North Gwinnett.

North Gwinnett Battles Back after a 98 minute lightening delay.

 

 

Congratulations to the Lady Dogs for their no quit performance last night.  Trailing 2-6 after two innings, the comeback was underway. Haley Cummings led the charge with a game tying 3 run HR followed by Carolyn Shumeyko’s two RBI hit to lift the Dogs to a 9-6 Victory over North Forsyth.  The Lady Bulldogs continue a 5 games run over four days tonight, August 15th at home against  Duluth at 6:00PM.   Come cheer on the Dogs to another victory.

 

 

NORTH 10 LAMBERT 4 & NORTH 12 CAMBRIDGE 4

The Varsity North Gwinnett Lady Dogs take two at The Rumble at The Ridge Tournament to remain undefeated on the season.  22 runs over two games and outstanding pitching from

Alex Higdon, Jaylyn Benson, and Amber Reed.  Riley Jackson was strong behind home plate.

The Bulldogs posted 22 hits in two games with contribution throughout the lineup.

 

The Lady Dogs open up their home season on Thursday night, August 14that 7:45PM against North Forsyth.
